John Adams believed talent was better than social standing, and this show as his life progresses. When the British came to Boston, he asked the other colonies to "back" his up. Even though George Washington was not a very wealthy man, or very high in the social standing, John Adams nominated him to be the General in the new National Army that was formed at the Second Continental Congress. Later on in his life, he becam the second president of the United States. His wife's name was Abigal, and there son, John Quiency Adams became a president of the United States as well.
