The battles that were fought in the South differed greatly from those of them fought in the north. It was the Tidewater region, so the weather was very hot, and humid, and it was hard to breath all the time. There was also disease and slavery. The slaves who had once been fighting with the Americans, now were going over and fighting with the British. At the battle of charelston, the American army was at the mercy of the British. Also, in the end, the entire American army fighting at the time was captured and declared prisoners of war.
